for a relaxed winter sports holiday with the Ski School Sesto.
Frequently asked questions and our answers
Children can start getting used to skiing at an early age, as soon as they show interest. Lessons make sense when children are ready to separate from their parents during the lesson and engage with the instructor. We recommend private or group lessons from about the age of 3. For 3-year-olds, we recommend booking a trial day. It may turn out that it is still too early, as the biological age doesn’t always match the chronological age.
As a rule, no refunds are given, so we recommend taking out cancellation insurance. For very young children, it is possible to book the first day as a trial and then extend the course. In any case, we strive to find a suitable solution for everyone.
Parents can watch the ski lessons, but the lesson should not be disrupted. In our experience, it’s better for the children if parents are not in the immediate vicinity of the practice area.
For group courses, the children meet depending on their skill level at the Waldheim lift or the mountain station of the “Helmjet Sexten” cable car. You will receive all the necessary information about the exact meeting point when registering at the ski school office, and for the following days, your ski instructor will provide further details.
Beginner groups start on Sundays or Mondays. Joining a group course on another day needs to be clarified with the ski school office.
Helmets are mandatory for minors. However, we recommend that everyone wear a helmet.
We recommend booking through our online shop. Book your course conveniently from home and save time on-site. Especially in high season, course spots are limited. Alternatively, direct reservations in our office are possible up to one day before the course begins.
Group assignments are primarily based on the children’s skiing ability and age. If the children are at about the same level, please let us know your preference during registration and group allocation, and we will do our best. If the children do not ski at the same level, the more advanced child will need to accommodate the less advanced one, or they will ski in the weaker group.
Unfortunately, for organisational reasons, it’s generally not possible to book a group course with a specific instructor.
When new skills need to be learned or consolidated, it is often advantageous to practise on gentler slopes where the children feel secure and therefore make faster progress.
We aim to form groups that are as homogeneous as possible so that the instructor can offer a well-structured lesson. Group sizes range from 5 to 10 children, and in exceptional cases, there may be more than 10.
All beginner children do not need ski poles. For advanced children, the following applies for the first day: children who have already learned to ski with poles should bring them on the first day. Children who have never skied with poles should come without them on the first day. For the following course days, the instructor will provide the necessary information.
Toni’s Mini Club is suitable for children aged about 5 years. In this course, ski lessons take place in the morning and afternoon. Lunch is included in the price. We do not offer childcare without ski lessons.
The Junior Adventure Club is for children aged 8 and over, and for teenagers with skiing experience. A basic level of parallel skiing is a prerequisite for this course. Lunch is included in the price.
The children receive a varied, warm children’s menu, which is always displayed in the Mini Club venue (2 dishes to choose from). Children in the Junior Club eat in the mountain huts and can often choose for themselves.
The final race usually takes place on Friday afternoon, and for the younger beginners, on Friday morning during the course. Participation is included in the course fee. The award ceremony follows the final race.
Children’s ski courses start every Sunday or Monday. Adult group courses and snowboard courses start every Monday. During Christmas and New Year, it may be possible to join the courses almost daily or after consultation with the office.
On-site payments can be made in cash, with a debit card, or by credit card (except American Express). Reservations made via email or our online shop can be paid by credit card (alternatively, by bank transfer).
Yes, all booked lessons must be paid for in advance. Participation in the course is not possible without a valid ticket.
No, at weekends we only offer private lessons. Group courses are available on Saturdays and Sundays during the Christmas and New Year holidays.
If you fall ill during the course, any remaining course days can be credited (with a doctor’s certificate) and will be valid for 2 years. Refunds are not possible. We recommend that all guests take out travel insurance before their trip.
Winter sports are outdoor activities! For us, there’s no such thing as bad weather, only inappropriate clothing. Skiing in snowfall can often be more fun than in bright sunshine. Lessons included in a package will not be rescheduled or refunded due to bad weather conditions.
If a student does not attend a lesson or arrives late, he/she is not entitled to make up the lessons or receive a refund.
Since 1 January 2022, it is mandatory for all skiers in the ski resorts to have liability insurance for third-party damage.
Accident insurance is not included in the price of lessons. The ski school accepts no liability for accidents before, during, or after lessons.
We recommend taking out cancellation insurance so that in the event of an unforeseen reason for cancelling a booking, the costs can be refunded. We have a suitable option available: see Snowcare lessons.
No, rental equipment is not included, but participants of our group courses (min. 5 days) receive a 10% discount at our ski rental.
Our ski rental is located right next to the ski school office, at the valley station of the Helmjet-Sesto cable car. We also run a toboggan rental at the Croda Rossa lower station.
The length of your skis depends on your skill level. The ski rental shop will give you the best advice.
No, the ski pass is not included and must always be purchased separately. Prices and information can be found on the official website www.dreizinnen.com.
Generally, anyone using a lift will need a ski pass, regardless of whether it’s in connection with the ski school or privately. Those using the magic carpet at the Waldheim lift during ski school lessons do not initially need a lift ticket.
The main office is located at the valley station of the Helmjet-Sesto cable car, right next to the ski school office. Tickets are also available at the valley stations of the Croda Rossa, Signaue, and Tre Cime cable cars. Tickets for the Waldheimlift are available directly at the lift.
